Akurasi inventory atau akurasi pada bagian warehouse salah satu kuncinya terletak pada sistem WMS yang dipakai. Terutama benturannya dengan space dimana satu barang bisa berada di banyak lokasi. Sehingga pekerja di warehouse tidak perlu mengetahu letak hanya berdasarkan ingatan.
Beradasarkan konsep WMS maka lokasi merupakan suatu identitas unique sehingga saat stok opname harus berdasarkan akurasi lokasi.
Suatu case di salah satu perusahaan yang telah melakukan stock opname atau penghitungan stock aktual secara periodik yaitu daily atau weekly dan sebulan sekali serta untuk WMS telah menggunakan system SAP B1 masih mempunyai akurasi stock sekitar 96.2% tetapi nilai variant dalam rupiah sangat besar sekali.
